with slender tapering blade etched over half its length at the forte with scrolling foliage enclosing crossed palms on one side, and crossed banners on the other, the former with retailer’s details at the ricasso, cruciform hilt comprising quillon-block including trefoil-shaped terminals with raised borders against stippled grounds, compressed globular pommel with button, and writhen ivory grip bound with twisted copper alloy wire, in its leather scabbard covered in burgundy velvet (plush worn off) with bullion seam along one side, and locket and chape chased with laurels, the former with frog-hook, 79.0 cm blade
