AN ENGLISH SILVER-MOUNTED HUNTING HANGER, INDISTINCT SILVER HALLMARKS AND MAKER’S MARK, CIRCA 1770

with slightly curved fullered blade (worn and rust patinated) double-edged at the point, hilt comprising quillon-block cast and chased with trophies on each side against finely punched grounds, recurved quillons with eagle-head terminal, lion-head pommel carrying a double knuckle-chain originally attached to the forward quillon, and writhen green-stained ivory grip bound with silver ribbon (some old wear), 65.0 cm blade
