with bright tapering double-edged blade with rounded point, heavy copper alloy hilt comprising side-guard cast and chased in low relief with a crowned lion rampant above a martial trophy and linked by two scrolled bars to the knuckle-guard, the latter screwed to the lion-head pommel with plain back-piece, lobed rear quillon, inner thumb-ring formed as a shell, wooden grip bound with twisted copper alloy wire (loose and incomplete) of heavy gauge, in its wooden scabbard covered in black leather with iron locket and deep chape (old pitting and denting) each with rectangular recessed panels on both sides, 89.0 cm blade
