AN INDIAN 15-BORE MATCHLOCK GUN (TORADAR), LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY, PROBABLY JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN

with three-stage sighted barrel chiselled with lotus blossoms at the slightly flared muzzle and over two panels at the breech, along the top with a long tapering Cyprus tree and retained by leather thongs, copper fore-sight and block-shaped back-sight, the latter with fluted hardwood mount behind, integral pan with hinged cover carrying a picker on a chain, steel side-plates each chiselled with a border of running foliage and each with a large foliate terminal at the rear, lacquered full stock with curved butt, the latter with hardwood butt-plate, trigger pierced and chased as a floret, sling loops, and original steel ramrod with chased baluster tip , 121.5 cm barrel
