the gilt crowned Maltese cross plate with white-metal hobnail inlays, central burnished white-metal roundel with mounted gilt laurel wreath and white-metal 'S', four loops to reverse, bearing a tag inscribed 'Lt. Terry / Surrey Yeo.y / 1833'
The London Gazette of 18 May 1833 notes that 'Cornet Thomas Naylor to be Lieutenant, by purchase, vice Terry, who retires. Dated 16th March 1833'.
