AN 1827 PATTERN NAVAL OFFICER’S PRESENTATION SWORD BY WILKINSON SWORD LTD., NO. 83987, DATED 1961

of regulation pattern, with bright fullered blade etched along one side with maker’s details, presentation inscription and crowned ‘ERII’ cypher, all between oak foliage and ropework, and along the other with crowned fouled anchor between oak foliage and ropework, ormolu hilt incorporating a crowned fouled anchor in an oval, folding inner-guard, lion-head pommel and back-piece in one, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip, in its black leather scabbard with engraved ormolu mounts and two suspension rings, and in fine condition, 79.0 cm blade

The presentation inscription reads: ‘PRESENTED BY THE GOVERNORS OF THE “ARETHUSA” TRAINING SHIP TO LIEUTENANT (SD) G.W. WILLSON R.N. DECEMBER 1961’.
