of regulation pattern, with bright slightly curved pipe-back blade (minor areas of rust patination), ormolu hilt retaining nearly all its original gilding, pierced with crowned ‘GRIV’ cypher and with finely beaded borders, folding inner-guard, and wire-bound fishskin-covered grip (some loss of fishskin), in its black leather scabbard with linear engraved ormolu mounts and suspension rings, the locket with foliate frog-button, 81.5 cm blade
