the deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to a slightly everted rim, finely and brightly enamelled around the exterior with butterflies in flight, all reserved on a rich yellow ground, the base with four-character reign mark in iron red, 19.5cm diameter

The sale of 170 lots comprise of a wide range of Chinese works such as ceramics from the Song to Qing Dynasty, an English private collection of jade and hardstone carvings, furniture, bronzes and sculptures.
The Japanese section includes works of art, ceramics, including a small private collection of contemporary ceramics by Kondo Yuzo, bronzes and prints. From Korea, a highlight is a Chaekgeori eight-fold screen with hidden artist seal from the Joseon Dynasty, 19th century.
