with bright curved blade double-edged at the point, the forte on both side etched with the cypher of Friedrich I, copper alloy hilt comprising side-guard cast and chased with a crowned lion rampant, a scrolled bar above linking it to the knuckle-guard, the latter hooked into the mouth of the cast lion-head pommel made in one with the grip, rear quillon with lobed tip and inner thumb-ring, in its brown leather scabbard with linear engraved copper alloy mounts, the locket with frog-button, 72.5 cm blade
