Awatef El-Nahal, born Awatef Ramzy El-Nahal in 1939, is a distinguished Egyptian artist, best known for her expressive oil and mixed-media paintings. Born in 1939, she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in 1964 and later developed her artistic abilities through independent study at the respected Wanly School of Arts. Her work is characterised by the use of oil and mixed media on canvas to create striking visual compositions. Recognised as a pioneer in Egyptian art, she continues to receive lasting recognition, and her work is still exhibited by institutions such as the Liwan Art Gallery in Zamalek, Cairo.


The present lot is signed by Seif Wanly who was the artist's professor at the time she painted the work.
