with sighted barrel with manufacturer's details 'Manufacture Francais D'Armes Et Cycles De St. Etienne' along the top in front of the back-sight, the breech stamped 'Acier' on one side and 'Cal....' on the other, engraved action, threaded gas cylinder mounted beneath the barrel, butt with chequered grip and dark hard-rubber butt-plate, engraved trigger-guard, and adjustable trigger (areas of pitting, forward sling mount replaced), 62.3 cm barrel
