Tracey Armstrong was born and raised in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and now lives and works in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her artistic aptitude was encouraged from an early age, her maternal grandmother was an artist and developed through study with various art teachers over the years, before she left a twenty-five-year career in the corporate world to paint full-time. Armstrong works in acrylic on canvas using techniques of heavy layering and textured paint processes, creating images that explore the peoples and wildlife of Africa with particular attention to the dignity and spiritual depth of her figurative subjects. Her work has attracted international interest and is held in private collections across the world.
