with slightly recurved unusually watered single-edged blade with shaped nielloed silver mount over the forte on each side engraved with gilt arabesques, and silver hilt with ‘eared’ pommel and decorated with nielloed scrollwork against hatched grounds, all within nielloed borders, in original wooden scabbard now covered in plum velvet and with deep silver locket and chape each embossed and chased with symmetrical designs of foliage, the former with embossed and plaited silver bands around the top, and with suspension loop, the latter with monster-head terminal, 53.0 cm blade
