Inspired by Sèvres porcelain, this use of a green ground reserved with dotted circles is asscoiated with a service known as the Duke of Gloucester or Duke of Cambridge service although, in the case of this service, the green is brighter, the 'partidge-eye' pattern less crowded and there is a variation to the gilded cartouches and C-scroll borders.
