of regulation pattern, with tapering blade (old pitting) of slightly hollowed flattened diamond section, copper alloy hilt retaining some gilding and comprising oval side-guard cast with a crown surmounted by a crowned lion and against a stippled ground, linked by a bar to the knuckle-guard, the latter hooked into the pommel cast with a crown on both sides, inner loop-guard, rear quillon with button terminal and grip bound with twisted copper alloy wire, 79.5 cm blade
