TWO MEISSEN PORCELAIN FIGURES, CUPID IN DISGUISE AND A MAN SMOKING A PIPE, 18TH CENTURY
the Cupid modelled standing wearing a yellow ermine-lined robe and feathered headdress, a small gold snuff-box in her left hand, 8.5cm high, the man standing wearing an orange jacket and black hat, a pipe raised to his mouth, indistinct blue crossed swords marks to back of bases; together with a Meissen figure of a soldier, 19th century, modelled standing and wearing a white coat, blue shirt and black hat, holding a halberd, blue crossed swords to underside and incised 1098. to back of base, 11.8cm high, his left hand a detached plaster replacement, further chipping and restorations; and a German porcelain figure of a girl, probably Höchst,19th century, after the model by J.P. Melchior, standing with her right arm outstretched, on a grassy rocky base, crowned blue wheel mark, 13.4cm high (4)
