Adrian Biddell has been running the Pictures Department since January 2023 and his notable biannual Fine Paintings, Works on Paper and Sculpture Auctions in June and December have seen highly successful results.  Since Adrian's tenure, the Department has expanded considerably and is supported by a number of highly experienced senior specialists, consultants and administrators.

Notable recent auction results include 'Mixed Flowers in a Black Jug' by Sir William Nicholson (British 1872-1949) which sold for £200,000, 'Madonna of 'The Miracle' with Self-Portait by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska (French 1891 - 1915) sold for £40,000 and 'Phyllis with a Bouquet of Flowers' by Elizabeth (Bessie) MacNicol (Scottish 1869 - 1904) sold for £17,500.

'Going to the Match' by Laurence Stephen Lowry (British 1887 - 1976) sold for £30,000 and 'Rad Lad II' by Lynn Chadwick (British 1914 - 2003) sold for £32,500.  (All aforementioned results include BP)
